Manny Pangilinan is not suited to big organisations, he says, when explaining his decision to quit American Express back in the late 1970s. Today, as the chief executive of First Pacific and chairman of PLDT and Indofood, among others, he is the boss of some 60,000 people. Quite a big organisation, some would say.
