Taiwan's top 50 corporates further improved their credit quality in 2004, reporting record high sales and earnings as a result of the robust upswing in both the old-economy and high-tech industries. The top 50 companies' total sales grew by 30% year-on-year to Taiwan dollar NT$ 7,113 billion US$222 billion in 2004, and their aggregate net income increased by 59.4% year-on-year to NT$735 billion US$23 billion.
