StanChart establishes global securitization team

Standard Chartered hires a team from Bank of America to break into securitization.

Standard Chartered has established a global asset-backed securitization team, enabling the firm to structure, arrange, and distribute asset-backed and future flow transactions.

The new team is comprised of experts previously from the Bank of America. Martin Essenburg has been appointed as the managing director and global head of the new venture. He is also the head of fixed income for Africa, Middle East, and South Asia. Prior to Standard Chartered, Essenburg was the head of international securitization at B of A. Noel Edison is hired to be the managing director and head of asset securitization for Emerging Europe, Africa, Middle East, and South Asia. Both of them will be based in London.
