Softbank Investment and SBI Capital Markets announced plans on August 28 to launch a $100 million India-focused venture capital fund. The fund will make investments of $5-10 million with a holding horizon of 3-5 years. Target segments include business process outsourcing BPO, knowledge process outsourcing KPO, life sciences, online businesses, technology-enabled design and manufacturing. The fund will also explore emerging areas such as nano technology and environmental technology.
