Richdale named Southeast Asia CEO at Morgan Stanley

Morgan Stanley's energetic head of GIG returns to Singapore to lead the firm's business efforts in Southeast Asia.
Morgan Stanley said yesterday that it has promoted Kate Richdale to CEO for Southeast Asia, replacing Ronald Ong who will move up a step to the position of Southeast Asia chairman. Morgan StanleyÆs current chairman for the region, Greg Terry, will become a senior advisor to the firm in the region.

Richdale, who has led the Asia-Pacific general industries group since late 2006, will move from Hong Kong to Singapore to take up her new job. In addition to the CEO role, she will serve as head of investment banking for Southeast Asia, a position she also held during the latter part of a previous stint in Singapore between 2001 and 2006.
