Providence poaches Tong for Hong Kong office

The media and communications-focused private equity firm brings Sean Tong across from General Atlantic to add strength to its Hong Kong team.

Private equity firm Providence Equity Partners has poached Sean Tong from General Atlantic as a managing director for its Hong Kong office.

Tong is currently a managing director at General Atlantic in Hong Kong. He has been at General Atlantic since 2000, leading investments and working closely with public and private portfolio companies in the Greater China region. Before he joined General Atlantic, Tong was with Morgan Stanley in New York.
