Pioneer Investments opens Taiwan office

The asset manager has plans to expand its fund range, develop a fixed-interest presence and increase its institutional exposure.
Pioneer Investments has opened an office in Taiwan. It has been selling funds from offshore for the past 12 months via master agent ING Securities Investment Management. Its operation in the region has also been bolstered by the appointment of Mitch Wang as general manager and Victor Li as sales director, who will focus on developing new and existing business in partnership with ING.

According to the company, Pioneer has garnered 18 distributors so far, selling its 16-strong range of mutual funds including European and US equities as well as global fixed-income and other mandates.
