Orrick, Herrington Sutcliffe has continued beefing up its Tokyo practice with Shintaro Kuroda becoming the twelfth partner appointed this year. Kuroda joins the international law firm from the Tokyo offices of Yodoyabashi Yamagami, where he was formally a partner and bengoshi, a Japanese equivalent of barrister.
For his new firm, Kuroda brings experience through a practice that focuses on IT and IP transactional work, corporate transactions and equity capital markets matters. In addition, he also represents mainly Japanese subsidiaries of US companies in the IT, insurance, media and finance industries.
