MUFG names Asia general manager

The Japanese megabank has been hiring aggressively in the rest of Asia as its domestic clients expand into faster-growing economies.

Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ BTMU named Yoshitake Manabe as executive officer and general manager of its global corporate banking business for the Asia and Oceania region.

Manabe was previously head of the bank’s European corporate banking business, based in London. He brings with him close to 30 years of banking experience, particularly in corporate banking, MA advisory, structured finance and global business development.

BTMU is the main lending arm of Japanese megabank Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group MUFG and has been hiring aggressively and growing its loan book in the Asia-Pacific region as its Japanese clients expand to benefit from faster growth elsewhere in Asia.
