Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy appoints new managing partner

The international law firm appoints Anthony Root as managing director of its Hong Kong office.

International law firm Milbank, Tweed, Hadley McCloy has announced the appointment of Anthony Root as managing partner of the firm's Hong Kong office. He succeeds Douglas Tanner, who has relocated to Palo Alto in Calafornia to head Milbank's new Silicon Valley office.

Root has been a partner in the firm's global corporate finance group since 1996, focusing mainly on Asian corporate, mergers and acquisitions and restructuring transactions. His clients include Globe Telecom, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley and Merrill Lynch, and he has been involved with UOB's high-profile acquisition for OUB in Singapore.
