Merrills hires two Korean derivatives specialists

The US investment bank picks off two bankers from SG Securities to strengthen its position in the region.

Young Suh has been appointed as a director and will head the firm's equity derivative sales efforts for Korea. Reporting to Anthony Stalker, managing director and head of Asia Pacific equity markets, Suh has 10 years of derivative and structured product sales experience.

Prior to joining SG in 1999, he was a director of equity derivatives working for BT Alex Brown and Daiwa Securities in Seoul.

The second hire, John Kim, has been made an assistant VP and will report to Suh, with whom he has worked for the past 18 months at SG. Prior to joining the French bank, he held positions at Prudential Bache private banking in Hong Kong and McLaughlin,...
