Bank of America-Merrill Lynch has appointed Junichi Shiroshita as a managing director in its investment banking team in Japan. He will be part of the bank's leadership team, working to expand its coverage in Japan.
Shiroshita has over 20 years of industry experience. He comes to Merrill from Bain Capital Japan, where he was one of the founding members of its Japanese operation. Before that, he was the head of Morgan Stanley Japan's GIG team. In his eight-year stint at Morgan Stanley, Shiroshita specialised in advising companies in the metals, automobile, machinery and pharmaceutical sectors.
