Macquarie exits Net-Zero Banking Alliance

The decision comes after several US banking groups left the NZBA over the last six months.

Australian financial services giant Macquarie has decided to pull out of the Net-Zero Banking Alliance following the decision of several large banking groups in the US.

In a statement on February 11, the Sydney headquartered group said “The Net-Zero Banking Alliance NZBA helped develop global frameworks and assisted member banks as they established their initial decarbonisation plans.

The statement stressed that the energy transition and addressing climate solutions are important part of the group's work.
