Macfarlane to advise Goldman Sachs

The former governor of AustraliaÆs central bank is appointed as an international advisor.
Six months after stepping down as the governor of the Reserve Bank of Australia, Ian Macfarlane has been appointed as an international advisor to Goldman Sachs. He will give advice on domestic and global public policy and economic issues.

Macfarlane spent 10 years as head of the Reserve Bank between 1996 and 2006. He held the position during one of AustraliaÆs most prosperous periods û the country is in its 18th year of economic expansion.
