Lehman Brothers poaches Purker from ICICI Bank

Prashant Purker will lead the bankÆs global finance business in India.

Lehman Brothers has appointed Prashant Purker as managing director and head of global finance in India, with the aim of capturing the business opportunities that stem from increasing mergers and acquisitions activities and demand for structured financial products in the country. Purker was most recently head of global principal investments and trading at ICICI Bank.

In his new role, Purker will oversee LehmanÆs client-based risk solutions group, which incorporates both debt and equities, in India. Based in Mumbai, he will report to Surojit Shome, head of investment banking in India and Joonkee Hong, head of global finance Asia.
