KBC Securities Japan, a specialist in convertibles, equity derivatives and structured products, has activated its seat on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and made several important hires, says Marco Roccia, managing director. Among other things the TSE seat will enable KBC to enter the cash equities business, as well as link up its proprietary trading system to the exchange's, which translates into faster execution. Roccia believes that since the seat was activated on September 3, KBC has already accounted for nearly 1% of the market's daily average turnover.
