Hutchison 3G has appointed Tim Pennington to the position of finance director based in London.
Pennington, who joins from investment bank HSBC after 18 years, was head of the technology group, and had been working with closely with Hutchison 3G in relation to 3G licence acquisitions and strategy. Prior to HSBC, Pennington was director at Samuel Montagu.
Hutchison 3G's major shareholders are Hutchison Whampoa 65%, NTT DoCoMo 20%, KPN Royal Dutch Telecom and KPN Mobile, and is the winner of the United Kingdom's largest universal mobile telecomunication system UMTS licence.
