HSBC appoints Shirley Leong to vacant role in Malaysia

Shirley Leong becomes head of global payments and cash management for Malaysia, replacing Jason Tan who relocated to Hong Kong last month.

HSBC has appointed Shirley Leong its new head of global payments and cash management for Malaysia. She replaced Jason Tan who was appointed HSBC’s new regional head of client management a month ago.

“Over the past 18 months, we have invested heavily in our aggressive growth strategy across Asia-Pacific, expanding client facing sales and service teams and bringing innovative products to market,” said John Laurens, head of global payments and cash management for Asia-Pacific at HSBC, in a statement. “The appointment of a highly experienced senior executive supports our continued focus and commitment to developing our business in Malaysia and other major markets across the region.”
