HSBC AM creates global portfolio role in Asia

Leon Goldfeld fills the new position from AXA.

Leon Goldfeld has left AXA Rosenberg to join HSBC Asset Management in Hong Kong as investment director. It is a new position in which he will be responsible for global portfolios, reporting to Ayaz Ebrahim, Asia equities CIO in Hong Kong, and Chris Cheetham, global CIO in London.

Ebrahim says the need for a new role derives from the importance of HSBC's global balanced and global equities mandates. We need a specialist who can link with the global portfolio team in London to develop accounts in this region, he says. In Hong Kong we've got Asia specialists, but not global ones.
