On Tuesday, SK Telecom announced it was buying Hynix Semiconductor for $3.1 billion, giving Hynix shareholders a long-awaited exit and marking a turning point for a number of failed attempts by Hynix. It is the biggest MA deal for a Korean technology company in more than a decade and the second-biggest MA deal in Korea this year.
