Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has announced the promotion of two of its staff to the partnership. The firm now boasts 41 partners in Asia. Ng Kay Ian joined the firm in 1998 in the corporate practice and has been in Hong Kong since 2000. His practice area covers securitiescapital markets, mergers and acquisitions, financings and debt restructurings.
His more recent work includes advising the Singapore government on the privitisation and IPO of the Singapore MRT and helping DBS in its public takeover of Dao Heng Bank. He is a qualified English, Hong Kong and Malaysian solicitor and also speaks Mandarin and Cantonese.
