Capital markets person of the year was awarded on the night to Ralph Marshall, the man behind Usaha Tegas, which launched the highly successful IPO for its mobile phone subsidiary, Maxis last year.
Other distinguished guests included the head of Bank of China HK, Liu Jin-Bao, who was at the event to pick up the award for the deal of the year.
Breaking up the evening was a brief bout of music from Australian operatic maestro, Tom Griffiths, a member of the Three Waiters group. He sang arias and serenaded guests including Citigroup's Penny Shone.
