e2-Capital hires former Morgan Stanley trader for equity research

e2-Capital, an online investment bank that hopes to specialize in technology, has recruited Ryan Fong, a former trader at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, to help build a research department.
e2-Capital, a recently formed online investment bank specializing in technology, media and telecommunications, has recruited Ryan Fong, a former trader for Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, as assistant vice-president and technology research analyst.

In the six months before joining e2-Capital, Fong, 28, set up and ran his own $25 million technology fund   Pacific Legend in Hong Kong. Fong says the fund, though short-lived, returned 38% to its investors by betting on technology stocks such as telecommunications company China Mobile and computer company Legend Holdings.

Before that Fong was an associate director at Morgan Stanley in Hong Kong, where he traded Asian equities, especially North Asian equities, for three years. He joined Morgan from...
