Deutsche Bank names new head of commodities

Simon Grenfell's experience at Macquarie makes him a natural fit to grow the Asian business for the German bank.

Deutsche Bank has appointed Simon Grenfell to take on an expanded position as managing director and head of commodities in Asia. Grenfell joins Deutsche Bank from Macquarie Bank in London, where he was executive director and global co-head of the commodity markets division.

Grenfell started working with the global credit trading product group yesterday, in charge of the expansion of DeutscheÆs regional commodities platform and the range of products offered in Asia.

From his base in Singapore, Grenfell will report regionally to Sajid Javid, head of global credit trading in Asia ex-Japan, and globally to David Silbert, global head of commodities at Deutsche.
