The equity and debt capital markets see out the first quarter in lacklustre fashion.
Equity Capital Markets

The last week of the quarter saw a total of $223 million raised from 10 issues, bringing year-to-date volume to $22.0 billion - the lowest first quarter result since 1Q 2005 $16.8 billion and down 10% from 1Q 2007 $24.4 billion. Citi continues to top the league table rankings with $3.0 billion, followed by Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan.

Li NingÆs $76 million bought deal was the largest issue of the week and led by UBS. The Swiss investment house moved up a notch to sit in fourth place in the rankings with $1.5 billion.
