Credit Suisse appoints regional head of global securities

Osama Abbasi will transfer from London to take up the role of overseeing both equities and fixed income.
Credit Suisse has promoted Osama Abbasi to a new position as head of global securities for non-Japan Asia and Australia, which will have him oversee all aspects of sales, structuring, trading and research for both equities and fixed income.

This will be the first time that the bank will bring together the secondary side of its equities and fixed income businesses under one head in this region and follows the hiring of Mike Ryan as the bankÆs New York-based head of global securities about six months ago. Sources say the creation of this new layer is to better capture the synergies between the two asset classes.
