Citi shuffles country head cards

Citi appoints new country heads for Thailand and Indonesia.
Citi has appointed Peter Eliot as Citi country officer CCO and head of markets and banking in Thailand. He leaves his post as CCO for Indonesia and has been replaced by Shariq Mukhtar.

Insiders say that Eliot requested the move to Thailand, seeking a new challenge in a country that has never quite managed to live up to its potential. Eliot has spent 24 years with Citi in a number of senior management positions, most recently in Indonesia, the Philippines and Singapore.

Prior to his assignments in Asia, Eliot spent 10 years with Citi in the Middle East and Eastern Europe, including senior roles in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Hungary. He is taking over the...
