Citi rolls out Korean research hire

Chung to drive CIR''s research capabilities.

Michael Chung has joined Citigroup investment research CIR in Seoul, taking on the role of Korean head of research. He moves to the firm from rival US bank Morgan Stanley where he had covered the Korean financials sector since 2001.

In his new position, Chun assumes responsibility for managing CIR's research product and strategy, taking over the post from Leslie Chow who will relocate to Hong Kong next month to cover the Asian chemicals sector. Prior to his career at Morgan Stanley, Chung spent three years as a financials analyst at Samsung Securities and one year covering the non-bank financials sector at Dongbang Peregrine.
