Citi rehires Minggao Shen as chief economist of Greater China

Minggao Shen leaves Caijing Magazine in Beijing to rejoin Citi in a newly created role as chief economist for Greater China.

Citi announced yesterday that Minggao Shen has been appointed to the newly created role of chief economist for Greater China. He will be based in Hong Kong.

Shen, a Citi returnee, was most recently the chief economist at Caijing Magazine based in Beijing. Prior to that, Shen was Citi senior China economist from September 2005 to July 2008.

We are pleased that Minggao is returning to Citi and will take on an enlarged portfolio covering macroeconomics research with primary focus on mainland China as well as working closely with our local teams in Hong Kong and Taiwan, said Johanna Chua, chief economist for Citi Asia-Pacific.
