Citi has named Ashu Khullar as head of capital markets origination for the Asia-Pacific region, according to a spokesman. Khullar replaces Kenneth Poon, who is leaving the US bank after 13 years.
Khullar was most recently co-head of corporate banking for Europe, Middle East Africa and held a number of senior roles in different divisions, including cash management, trade, relationship banking and capital markets originations businesses across emerging markets since joining the bank 30 years ago. He spent most of his banking career with Citi in London since 1996 after spending a few years in India.
