Citi appoints new Japan head of markets

Citi's Akira Hoshino succeeds Tokiya Kishie, who has left the company.

Citi has appointed Akira Hoshino as its new head of markets for Japan, effective March 25, according to a media release from the global bank. Hoshino has been tasked with driving business growth and to lead the markets franchise in Japan.

Hoshino pictured joined Citi in Tokyo in 2019 as head of foreign exchange FX and also went onto leading rates sales in 2022. Prior to Citi, he was head of global markets sales and trading at MUFG Bank, where he spent over eight years.
