Chien gains SCO spot in Taiwan

One of Taiwan''s most talented investment bankers gains a new role at JPMorgan.

JPMorgan announced yesterday that Carl Chien has been appointed Senior Country Officer SCO for Taiwan following an internal re-shuffle at the bank. Andrew Kuo, who had held the position for the past five years, will continue to be SCO for Hong Kong where he has been based for the last 18 months.

The move is a natural extension for Chien who was previously General Manager in Taipei and is considered one of country's most dynamic and well connected investment bankers. His father, Frederick Chien is President of the Control Yuan and a former foreign miniser to Chiang Kai Shek.

Chien started his investment banking career at Goldman Sachs in 1997...
