Cheong Soon Tan moves to Merrill Hong Kong

The latest move by Merrill Lynch to boost its International Private Client Group.

Merrill Lynch has announced that Cheong Soon Tan is relocating from Singapore to spearhead the firm's International Private Client IPC group's Greater China operations. Cheong is a managing director with the firm and will have responsibility for Merrill's IPC activities in Hong Kong, Taiwan and in the future, China.

Cheong has been with Merrill Lynch since 1989 when he joined from DBS. A specialist private banker, Cheong has risen quickly through the ranks and most recently was joint general manager of Merrill Lynch International Bank in Singapore.
