Calyon reshuffles top Asia staff

Patrice CouvFgnes moves from Tokyo to Hong Kong to supervise the region, while Marc Poirier takes over Japan.

Specialists have informed FinanceAsia that Patrice CouvFgnes, Calyon's former senior country officer SCO of Japan, has been appointed senior regional officer SRO for Asia as of July 15, and that Marc Poirier will take over the SCO role on the same date.

The SRO post has been especially created for CouvFgnes and sources say that the move reflects the strategic importance Calyon puts on Asia. CouvFgnes becomes a member of the Calyon management committee with the promotion.

The well-regarded Marc Poirier, who surprised markets last November by leaving Societe Generale SG China for Calyon Securities Japan, will become SCO after just seven months with the firm. He originally arrived at Calyon...
