Barclays Wealth goes Wilde on risk

The UK firm creates the post of Asia-Pacific chief risk officer and hires UBS veteran Urban Wilde to fill it.

In a move that suggests a greater focus on managing risk locally and an increased level of regional autonomy in this area, Barclays' wealth-management arm has appointed its first chief risk officer for Asia-Pacific.

And Barclays Wealth continues to tap UBS talent by hiring Urban Wilde for the role. He will start on August 2 and report to global CRO Mark Cooke and Asia-Pacific chief executive Didier von Daeniken.

Based in Singapore, Wilde will manage the coverage of risk issues across the region, including risk framework design, implementation and effectiveness. He will oversee the operational and credit risk teams, whose respective heads now report to him, and...
