Barclays Capital has hired Helge Weiner-Trapness as head of its financial institutions group FIG for Asia-Pacific and elevated existing head, Steven Sun, to the position of chairman. The British bank has also appointed Randy Gelber as head of technology for investment banking.
Weiner-Trapness will be responsible for managing delivery to FIG clients, including banks and other financial services companies. He joins from Asia Pacific Land, where he was group managing director and chief operating officer. Over the past two decades Weiner-Trapness has also worked at J.P. Morgan, including a stint as head of FIG, and at Goldman Sachs.
