Barclays Asia-Pac research head given global gig

The retirement of Larry Kantor triggers the promotion of Asia research head Jon Scoffin to global fixed income and equity research co-head, together with Jeff Meli.

Jon Scoffin and Jeff Meli have been named co-heads of global research at Barclays following the retirement of Larry Kantor, according to an internal memo seen by FinanceAsia.

Scoffin, who joined Barclays in 1998, is based in London.

In the memo Tom King, chief executive of Barclay's investment bank, credited Scoffin with building Barclays as a leader in fixed income, currency and commodities FICC research, while enhancing the bank's regional equity research capabilities.
