Airline losses can mean gains for aircraft lessors as airlines seek to shore-up balance sheets.
As airlines face a global slowdown, aircraft leasing companies continue to perform well. As if to demonstrate this fact, Guggenheim Aviation Partners this week opened a representative office in Singapore to better serve AsiaÆs growing aircraft leasing market.

US-based Guggenheim Aviation PartnersÆ GAP new Singapore office complements its existing Hong Kong office. The presence in Southeast Asia allows GAP to expand its $2.7 billion portfolio of new and used commercial aircraft further into the region. Stephen Barnes, former treasurer of Singapore Airlines, will be director of the new office.
